The Atlanta Falcons are shaping up to be a nightmare for opposing run games, showing grit and improvement in joint practices with the Indianapolis Colts. With Jeff Ulbrich’s front seven locking down the line of scrimmage, Atlanta’s revamped run defense is ready to force teams to challenge them through the air instead. Can this newfound toughness up front be the core strength the Falcons need to transform their defense in the NFC South? Rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels, a fourth-round steal out of Oklahoma, is already commanding attention after transitioning from safety and earning the green dot in Divine Deablo’s absence. While pass rush remains a question with the anticipated arrival of Za’Darius Smith, this young Atlanta defense is quickly building an identity around physicality, depth, and potential breakout playmakers.
