The Atlanta Falcons defense faces a health crisis just as opponents start to pick apart their secondary, with key players like A.J. Terrell and C.J. Henderson battling injuries and rookies such as Avieon Terrell pushed into major roles. With Mike Hughes struggling at cornerback and special teams players like Josh Woods and JD Bertrand seeing heavy defensive snaps, Atlanta’s depth is stretched to the limit against explosive NFL offenses.
Can Jeff Ulbrich’s aggressive defensive scheme hold up against a surging San Francisco 49ers attack led by Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy? The Falcons must decide whether to make roster moves or trades to shore up their secondary and linebacker groups, as the team searches for answers after surrendering 31 points to the Bears and facing another tough matchup this week. Will Atlanta’s defense rebound or continue to struggle with injuries and mismatches?
