The Atlanta Falcons face a crucial preseason test as quarterback Michael Penix Jr. looks to overcome injury concerns and prove he’s ready to take the reins as QB1. Questions swirl around his availability and comfort against a live rush, with roster decisions looming at running back—most notably Cash Jones—and fierce competition brewing at wide receiver and along the offensive line, especially at right tackle. On defense, the pressure is on the defensive line to improve on last year’s struggles, with Brandon Dorlus and Mason Smith needing to step up against both the run and pass. The secondary’s communication and depth will be tested, as players like CJ Henderson and Aveion Terrell fight for roster spots opposite AJ Terrell. As Atlanta prepares for Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, every snap and standout play in this matchup will shape expectations for the season.
