The Atlanta Falcons may have found their franchise quarterback as Michael Penix receives medical clearance and is positioned to challenge Tua Tagovailoa for the starting job. Penix’s impressive camp performances and developing chemistry with tight end Kyle Pitts promise a dynamic look for Tommy Reese’s offense. Will Tua, originally brought in as a veteran backup, be able to hold off the highly touted rookie in what’s now an accelerated quarterback competition? Meanwhile, undrafted free agent Jack Strand made waves by torching the Indianapolis Colts with over 200 yards and two touchdowns in a dominant preseason outing. With Cooper Rush also having flashes and Tua’s struggles in joint practices, roster decisions are heating up. Has Strand done enough to lock up the QB2 spot behind Penix, and could Tua find himself on the bubble? Atlanta’s quarterback room is set for some dramatic twists heading into the regular season. #Riseup #atlantafalcons #nfl Photo credits: IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect
